The New Park and Recreation Finder Application Makes it Easier to Stay Active

Discover Fort Lauderdale’s wonderful parks by exploring the new Park and Recreation Finder application. It’s now easier to find out where to go when you are looking for a park in which to jog, play tennis, take a stroll, host a picnic, go boating or engage in a number of other fitness and relaxation activities.



Fort Lauderdale’s Parking Service GIS Application Recognized by the International Parking Institute

In 2006, the International Parking Institute recognized Fort Lauderdale GIS in the Innovative Technology category of its 2006 International Parking Awards Competition. Fort Lauderdale GIS was recognized for its development of an application to assist customer service representatives in resolving parking ticket disputes. The application also served as a primary tool for furnishing information to the public on available parking and parking rates. GIS Applications Developer Keary Cunningham, and Darlene Pfeiffer of the City’s Parking Division, traveled to Las Vegas, Nevada to receive the award.



The City of Fort Lauderdale’s GIS Wins FCCMA Award

Fort Lauderdale GIS was the winner of the Florida City and County Management Association’s (FCCMA) 1999 Innovations in Communications/Technology award.
