Thank you for making the City of Fort Lauderdale's GIS Day 2013 such a success!

On November 13, 2013, The City of Fort Lauderdale hosted its 2nd Annual GIS Day event. The day was filled with GIS tech talks, the kickoff of the City's 2nd annual Geocaching Contest, and several raffles where an abundance of free prizes were awarded. We would like to thank this year's participating agencies ESRI, SunGard Public Sector, Microsoft, the Museum of Discovery and Science, and the University of Florida.

We would also like to congratulate Kathy Chan, a student at South Broward High, and Susanne Campbell, an employee of Broward Transit Commission, for being the lucky winners of our end-of-day GIS Day raffles.   Ms. Chan was the lucky winner of an Amazon Kindle Fire HD while Ms. Campbell’s ticket was pulled for a Microsoft Nokia Phone.

Geocaching Contest 2013

Geocaching Contest!

As part of GIS Day 2013 we are hosting our 2nd annual Geocaching Contest where the top treasure hunter will win a Kindle Fire! Geocaching is a game of locating small devices, known as geocaches, that have been placed around the City.

For the contest, 10 geocaches have been placed in 10 different City of Fort Lauderdale Parks. It’s your mission to locate, and scan, each of the geocache's unique QR code using a web-enabled mobile device. Once scanned, you will be prompted to enter your unique Geocaching ID that will be issued after registering for the contest.
